Christy Hines, LCSW
Christy is the Founder and Lead Therapist of Mind & Body Therapeutic Services. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the Joint Master of Social Work Program at the University of North Carolina Greensboro and NC A&T State University. Christy provides virtual therapy in both North Carolina & Virginia.
Outside of the therapy room, Christy embraces self-care as a lifestyle—not just a routine. She finds renewal in the quiet moments spent in nature, strength through movement and fitness, exploring beauty and wellness, and spending quality time with her family.
- Therapist
A Therapist Who Understands
Over the years, Christy has provided care in diverse clinical settings including outpatient therapy, inpatient hospitals, and intensive family support programs. She works with young adults ages 17 and up, addressing concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, relationship and marital issues, parenting challenges, pre-natal and post-partum transitions, domestic violence (verbal, emotional, and physical), and women’s issues.
As a Black therapist, she brings both professional expertise and lived experience to the therapeutic space—especially when working with members of the African American community. Whether you’re navigating the weight of generational trauma, the stress of everyday life, or deeply personal challenges that feel hard to name, you deserve a space that feels safe, affirming, and judgment-free.
Christy's motto
“It’s okay to be down — but we don’t have to stay down, so lets get up.”
The moment you start working on yourself and stop feeling sorry for yourself or your mistakes is the moment your life starts to change for the better.
- Approach
Her Approach and Life Beyond Therapy
Christy is known for her warm, engaging style, helping clients feel at ease and supported. She takes an eclectic, client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed techniques to meet each individual’s unique needs.
While her practice is rooted in cultural awareness and committed to supporting the unique experiences of Black individuals, she welcomes people of all backgrounds, identities, and walks of life. Therapy with me is a space where your full self is honored—your story, your struggles, and your strength.
